As the fight to fix Tier 2 pensions continues to ramp up, we know we must educate and advocate with state lawmakers to address the problems with Tier 2 pensions. The unfair and inadequate Tier 2 pension system undercuts retirement security, hurts our ability to recruit and retain critical law enforcement officers, and diminishes public services for all our communities.
This month, the We Are One Illinois coalition will be holding a series of town halls across the state where we will hear from public sector workers, labor leaders, pension experts, and state lawmakers. Please join us at a town hall to ensure everyone across the state understands the importance of addressing this growing problem.
